The Gold Coast Dressage Association Season Opener, held at the Global Dressage Stadium at PBIEC in Wellington, FL was everything that rider Kevin Kohmann was hoping for on his first ride in Intermediare 2 on the elegant Danish Warmblood, Sanchez. “We were really, really conservative in there,” Kohmann describes about the test, “Normally, he likes to be very much of a Trakehner in the ring. He likes to be hot, hot, hot!” Sanchez, who is owned by Jody Stoudenmier of Finally Farm in Wellington, is a 12 year old gelding by Blue Horse Romanoff and out of a Trakehner mare. Stoudemier has owned the fiery horse, whom she purchased from neighboring Diamante Farms, for 6 years. “I was in Denmark when Diamante Farm purchased Sanchez as a 2 year old,” she remembers. Now, she rides the horse everyday to warm him up for his shows with Kohmann.
