With sights set on qualifying for the upcoming Pan Am Games in Peru, dressage rider, Marco Bernal rode into the first week of the 2019 Adequan® Global Dressage Festival with a stable full of healthy horses. In particular, the 11 year old Holsteiner gelding, appropriately named Germany, was the picture of health as he carried Bernal into the Grand Prix ring during their first CDI of the season. “Germany (Clearway x Grace XIII) comes from more of a jumping line,” Bernal explains, “He has beautiful movement and a very good temperament.” Germany’s display of equine fitness and athleticism resulted in his rider being honored by winning the Omega Alpha Healthy Horse Award.

Bernal explains that it takes a whole team to keep a stable full of horses like Germany well groomed and fit for this level of performance. He specifically acknowledges the horses’ groom, Alvaro Gonzales, for doing such an outstanding job day after day, but also adds, “not only is the grooming important, but so is the farrier, the training and the overall program in order to keep the horses happy inside and outside.”  Omega Alpha shares these same feelings about an entire team being dedicated to improving horses’ well being and, in turn, horses’ performance. Therefore, it is important to them to honor owners and trainers, like Bernal, and their teams, who make great health a top priority for their horses. The Healthy Horse Award includes an assortment of popular Omega Alpha health products, a cooler, and a commemorative ribbon.

Bernal was thrilled to receive the award and to be recognized by Omega Alpha. “I’m really thankful and really excited to use Omega Alpha products especially the Gastra-FX™,” he smiles. With natural ingredients like marshmallow root, slippery elm, licorice root, and ginger root, Gastra-FX™ helps maintain a healthy intestinal track. Bernal adds, “This is very important because Germany is a very sensitive horse and coming to the shows gets him a little stressed. I can tell he gets tight and tense.”  Now, with the assortment of Omega Alpha products they have available, Bernal and his team can be assured that their horses’ level of optimum health will be maintained so they can perform their best this season.

In addition to recognizing horses in optimum health, Omega Alpha offers an extensive line of all-natural products to help improve and maintain equine respiration, digestion, joint health, hormonal balance, immune health, detoxification, muscle rehabilitation, endurance, and performance for horses, pets and humans.
