Stallions and mares took over the Devon showgrounds Wednesday evening, as the Mature Horse Championship, presented by Kingsley, and the overall Grand Championship concluded day two of Dressage at Devon. It was the mares who dominated in the winners circle, with Noblewood Tarpania earning the champion trophies in both the Mature Horse Championship and the Grand Championship, etching her name onto two separate perpetual trophies to commemorate her victories at the iconic show.

The Grand Championship and Mature Horse Championship presentation took place underneath the lights of the Dixon to award the week’s best in show. The Mature Horse Championship, presented by Kingsley, first awarded the Linda Moore Memorial Perpetual Trophy and Champion title to Catherine Malone’s Noblewood Tarpania, a 4-year-old Dutch Warmblood mare. Reserve Champion went to Samantha Kidd’s Kashmir R, a 7-year-old Dutch Warmblood mare.

Shortly after, the two Dutch Warmblood mares saw the same success in the Grand Championship. Noblewood Tarpania was again named Champion for her many high placings, taking home the Curtis Paul Cheyney Jr. Memorial Trophy, while Kashmir R earned Reserve Champion once more.

The Wheeler ring’s Mare Championship earlier in the afternoon, presented by The Engraver, saw Noblewood Tarpania take home her first championship of the day and the Wonderland Farm Perpetual Trophy. Kashmir R, took home Reserve. In third was Evelina MDH, a 4-year-old Hanoverian owned by Susanne Manz.

Earlier, stallions showed off in the Dixon Oval to compete in the Stallion Championship. It was Hannah Salazar and SF Bohemian Rhapsody, a 4-year-old Westphalian owned by Ann Daum, who claimed the Champion title and won the Malachit Trophy. Elizabeth Schneider’s 12-year-old Oldenburg, Royal English Kis, was awarded Reserve Champion. Andrea Nuccio and her 4-year-old Oldenburg, Finest Hour BC, came in third.
