Pony lovers rejoice: America’s favorite small-but-mighty dressage competition, the National Dressage Pony Cup (NDPC) and Small Horse Championship Show, will return for its 12th anniversary edition to the picturesque grounds of Lamplight Equestrian Center in Wayne, Ill. on July 19-21, 2019.

After making the move to Lamplight last year as well as debuting the wildly-popular NDPC Small Horse Championships, the event enjoyed a stellar year.

A whopping 225 entries from across the country aboard mounts representing 26 different breed organizations competed for stunning awards across more than 50 divisions for open, adult amateur, and young rider and junior exhibitors from the Intro Level to Grand Prix.

NDPC founder Jenny Carol believes 2019 will be even bigger. “We had such an overwhelming positive reception to the addition of our Small Horse divisions, it was just incredible to see,” said Carol. “Now that the word is out, we are anticipating even more excitement from exhibitors with both ponies and small horses who want to come to Lamplight and experience the special atmosphere and camaraderie that the Pony Cup has become famous for.”

At this year’s event, multiple rounds of championship action will take place on Friday and Saturday, July 19 and 20. As an added bonus, the open competition on Sunday, July 21 at Lamplight will now be part of the NDPC’s extensive network of Partner Shows across the United States and Canada, meaning that exhibitors can earn valuable scores towards show high-point awards and coveted year-end Pony Cup titles before heading home after an unforgettable weekend.
