Germantown, Maryland - Germantown, Maryland certainly has something to celebrate as Moore Hebert Dressage marks the one-year anniversary of its relocation to Alsikkan Farm this August. The official opening last August made the newly renovated facility the only private boarding and training facility in the town. The farm didn't disappoint, with the region's largest indoor arena at 100-by-220 feet and a state-of-the-art stabling area featured in the Washington Post for its transition from a historic dairy barn. "The largest number of Potomac Valley Dressage Association (PVDA) members live in Germantown," says resident trainer and owner, Hilary Moore Hebert. "It made complete sense to build here, since there was clearly a need in the area."

Within a month of the opening, the 10-stall barn was full with a waitlist. PVDA hosted its Fall Symposium with world-class judge Christoph Hess at the farm and the facility has since hosted numerous educational events since.

"Even before we opened, it was our goal to give back to the community and support the Montgomery Agricultural Reserve," says Moore Hebert. "When we first moved in, we held 'An EPIC Day of Giving' to raise money for the Equestrian Partners in Conservation. Vendors filled our half-gutted dairy barn before we put in horse stalls. We may not have had everything up and running, but we did what we could."

Now that the facility is complete, Moore Hebert is able to focus on her training and teaching business running out of the farm. She recently made headlines by winning the Virginia Dressage Association's Fourth Level high score award at the June show on a horse the owner bought for only $1.
