Wellington, FL - Michele Sizemore, of Windhorse Dressage, started 2014 off with a bang riding Nicole Polaski's chestnut Hanoverian mare, Lumiere Gold (Liberty Gold x Donnerhall). The dynamic duo won their First Level, Test 1 2011 Open Class with a 75.833% during the Adequan Global Dressage Festival 1 CDIW and National Show in Wellington. For their impressive scoring ride, Sizemore earned The Horse of Course High Score Award, and received a beautiful tri-colored ribbon and embroidered saddlepad from The Horse of Course. {C}{C}“We got her (Lumiere Gold) last summer. She's six now and really progressing well at Second Level. Our goal right now is to continue to build her experience, so her owner, Nicole, will be able to show her with confidence,” said Sizemore. “She's just been a terrific horse so far, and it's such a nice start to our season to receive this kind of recognition from The Horse of Course. We love their products.
Sizemore, who rides with Windhorse Dressage, is currently based outside of Boston, but Windhorse has plans to move to a more rural facility in Sherborne, MA while staying in the center of the action in Wellington during the Florida circuit.
This marks the third consecutive season that The Horse of Course has presented its High Score Award as part of the Adequan Global Dressage Festival, the world's largest international and national dressage circuit, and featuring eight CDIs - including five CDI-Ws, one 4* and one 5* - the Western Hemisphere's only non-championship CDIO Nations' Cup, and weekly U.S. National events.
“Michelle and Nicole's horse personified the beauty and harmony that we try to celebrate every day in dressage,” said The Horse of Course CEO, Beth Haist. “It's not the level that matters. It's how well a horse and rider connect, and when that training and partnership show, the scores show it, too. We'll be looking forward to seeing Nicole showing her lovely mare next.”
The Horse of Course has everything today's fashionably competitive rider needs to dress for success in the arena and serves a five-state area, including Florida, with a convenient mobile unit, attending – and sponsoring – horse shows.
“Dressage riders from around the world have come to rely on finding our products, clothing and saddles at the Global Dressage Festival,” Haist added about their return for another season to the world class event. The Horse of Course has a complete selection of tack and apparel for the English rider: show clothing, stable accessories, training equipment, gifts, books and equestrian sportswear. The Horse of Course also has master saddlefitter (and co-owner) Marty Haist to fit, reflock, or adjust saddles both on site at the show or at your farm.
“We'll be here in Florida to help riders find what they need quickly so they can spend more time in the saddle – and earning those high scores!” said Haist.
