With heavy hearts we announce the passing of the 1989 Licensed German Oldenburg stallion Tantris by Traumdeuter out of Rubina-Aktuella by Aktuell-Volturno. Tantris was bred in Germany by Harli Seifert, he stems from the immensely successful German Oldenburg Rudilore dam-line. Tantris was licensed as a two year old stallion at Vechta for German Oldenburg breeding and successfully completed his 100 Day testing at Medingen at three years of age. Shortly after his testing, Tantris was discovered by FEI “I” Judge and North American German Oldenburg breeder Jeanne McDonald and was imported to the US. Over the next twenty-two years the elegant stallion would make his mark upon North American German Oldenburg breeding, siring fifty-seven registered GOV foals while balancing a career as a successful Grand Prix dressage horse. Stationed at Jeanne’s Turning Point Farm in Downingtown, PA, Tantris and Jeanne journeyed together from Training Level in 1993 all the way up through the levels to Grand Prix in 2004. His many successful offspring with now continue to build his legacy in North America.

“Today I lost my best and ‘most impressive’ friend of twenty-two years, Tantris. Thanks to my friends that have come to help support Tantris and me through this time, I know we did everything we could to help him. He is now buried on my farm next to his old friend Moleque, my first horse, who lived with me for the last 15 years of his 30. Tantris is only my second horse ever. I have been so lucky to have two such wonderful friends for a long time, but it never is enough time. His field is empty as is my heart.” - Jeanne
