In preparation for the Dressage World Cup Final in Göteborg (SWE) March27th – 30th two of the three riders who will be representing the United States competed at a German CDI held in Dortmund this past weekend.

Debbie McDonald placed 3rd in the Grand Prix with a score of 73.83% and 5th in the Grand Prix Special with a 74.64% on her WEG mount, the Hanoverian mare Brentina (by Brentano II). George Williams finished in 14th place in the Grand Prix with a 67.67% and 12th in the Grand Prix Special with a 68.44% on his Westphalian mare Rocher (by Rolls Royce).

Guenter Seidel and Nikolaus, the other combination who will be representing the US at the Final did not compete at Dortmund.

Winning both Grand Prix classes at Dortmund was the Danish Lone Jorgenssen. Aboard her Baden Wurttemberger gelding FBW Kennedy (by Tiro), Jorgenssen achieved personal record scores of 74.87% and 77.32%. German Nadine Capellmann finished twice in second place. The Aachen located Capellmann mounted her good-old Gracioso (by Grundstein I) in Dortmund and showed the world that Gracioso should not so easily be overshadowed by stall mate Farbenfroh.
