RF Smoke on the Water and RF Demeter Finish Fifth and Sixth

Frederick, MD - Marilyn Little produced two outstanding results to finish fifth and sixth at the Rolex, Kentucky CCI 4* at the Kentucky Horse Park from April 24-27, 2014 as the sole rider to have two horses in the top ten of the exclusive CCI4* in North America, which is one of only six events at this level in the world.

Raylyn Farms & Phoebe and Michael Manders nine year old Wurttemburg gelding RF Smoke on the Water (Samos x Zuchtbuch Rapaula - Rapaulo) gave an impressive performance in his first four star event with a double clear that elevated him from 16th place after the dressage to finish on his dressage score of 52.5. 'Smoke' was one of the youngest horses in the field from 60 starters of which 36 finished, and rose to the occasion to clearly show why he is one of the most talented young event horses in the world.

Phoebe Manders, who along with her husband Mike, watched the event unfold were naturally delighted with the outcome. "Mike and I are so happy for Marilyn and Smoke. He was terrific this weekend and rose to the huge occasion that was presented to him. As always Marilyn rode him beautifully. Many thanks to the entire Raylyn Farm team. The care and attention to detail for the horses is first class and greatly appreciated," said Phoebe.

Team Demeter's 12 year old Oldenburg Mare RF Demeter (Rubin-Royal x Patricia) was the first of Little's two rides performing her dressage test in the first morning session on Thursday to lay down a competitive score of 51.3 in 9th place. A foot perfect cross country round elevated them to third place going into the stadium for the final show jumping phase where 'Demi' lowered the last element of the combination just three fences from home to add four penalties to an otherwise immaculate performance that placed them in sixth at their fifth CCI4* event together.

"This has been a wonderful weekend of sport at one of the most beautiful, challenging, and exciting events in the world. Prior to this week, RF Smoke on the Water was an up-and-coming star, but now I can say without a doubt that now he has taken his place on the Four Star scene with all the brilliance we hoped he would. RF Demeter has once again proven by she is the leading FEI ranked mare in the world; her consistency and brilliance at the highest of levels makes her a truly 'once in a lifetime' partner I am so privileged to have in my stable.  A very special thank you to the staff, veterinary and farrier team, sponsors, owners, family and supporters who have made these results possible," commented Little.

Little now turns her focus back to the show jumping arena for some select spring shows beginning with Old Salem Farm, NY from May 6-11th and May 13-18th.
