Incorporated in 2004 Maplewood Warmbloods, in Middletown, NY began a program producing high-quality Oldenbergs in the United States, establishing, along with other dedicated and educated breeders, a pipeline of High-Performance dressage horses made in the USA. It will be at the USEF National Dressage Finals, The Festival of Champions, in 2021 where they will be competing a record number of entries, and all with MW's head rider and trainer Lindsey Holleger.

Jen Vanover, Owner/Operator/FEI Rider/Handler developed a world-class facility with all the right ingredients for breeding, raising, and training her horses delivering talent, quality, and a bright future for Dressage in America. Known and respected worldwide, Vanover's vision has reached special fruition in 2021.
In 2021 they qualified six horses in the top ten rankings of four divisions, four stallions, and three born and bred at Maplewood Warmbloods.

Training on a regular basis with Scott Hassler under the watchful eye of USEF Young Horse Coach Christine Traurig, the team of Vanover and Holleger finds the daily rewards that come with working the entire program together is the best reward of all.
Making Great Horses Great
Vanover says she and Holleger have joked "That I started looking for her when she was 11 years old, but it is true." Together they have developed a partnership that covers the entire operation, breeding, foaling, and stallion collections. Then there is the riding and training.
"Having and consistently producing great horses is a wonderful thing but you have to have someone who has the ability to show that to the world consistently. Otherwise, they are just great horses in a field or occasionally at local shows," says Vanover.
"Part of making great horses great is staying out of their way physically and mentally. Both can be very difficult for a rider with an agenda. Lindsey guides and channels their alignment, mindset, and power so they learn to use their bodies in a non-destructive way for short sessions. This results in longevity in mind and low miles on them at the end of the day. Lindsey can be effective and successful on starting 3 year-olds and also showing 4-year-olds to Grand Prix horses at a National Championship having made them all herself. "
Indeed the twenty-five-year-old Holleger showed her touch early on medaling in the FEI NAJYRC Junior and Developing Young rider program. Having trained her own horse Fenway all the way from Training level under the guidance and mentorship of Erin Brinkman, was her focus all along.
The Vision of An American Breeder
"I like realistic plans and short-term wins," says Vanover. "That way I don't get tunnel vision and miss opportunities or be reluctant to change or adjustments."
That said Vanover is convinced the time for the American breeder has come and will be the foundation of the future of Dressage Sport in the USA. "If I had a dream it would be those in high sport to spend their money here in the US to develop from within. That is our plan and pursuit at MW."
Riders, owners, and breeders are needed to work together to achieve the American dream."This is a team effort and there are several breeders really doing a super job. Make the effort to keep the big dollars home so that pipeline and program can grow and sustain themselves. "
Jen Vanover and Lindsey Holleger will be bringing part of that pipeline to Wayne, Illinois, August 25-29, 2021 where America's best horses will be showcased in the ultimate Championship offered in American Medal-winning Dressage Sport.
