It’s Sunday morning and there are already giant ostriches from Teotro Pavana roaming around the Village Prestige. The last and ultimate day is opened by the Invitational Trophy riders in the Ecuries d’Ecaussinnes Grand Prix.

The Greatest Competitors? The Giants of Competition? No, G & C stands for Gustavo Mirabal and his wife Carolina, owners of some ten showjumping horses. With four victories and numerous placings, including an eighth place in the Gucci Gold Cup, the G & C stables have had an amazing weekend here at the Longines Masters of Paris, which ends in great style with Luis Miguel Martinez Seijas’s win on G & C Fredo LS in the 1m30 Grand Prix. The spectators were able to admire the riders’ brilliant technique throughout this jump-off, in which Gustavo Mirabal ended up taking the lead from Nina Barbour. This British rider has had some good results in this Longines Master of Paris edition, and ends her weekend in Paris very nicely with a second and third place. Nina is an amateur rider and professional breeder (Harthill Stud). She also organises some prestigious competitions in England. For her, the Longines Masters of Paris is a huge source of inspiration. “What an amazing competition!” she exclaimed. “This is the second time I’ve competed here. It’s extremely well organised. The venue is really smart and everything is just perfect: it’s such a pleasure to ride here.”

She hopes to come back next year… and maybe win! An ambition that is also shared by the G & C stables, adepts of this Longines Masters of Paris. See you in 2016!
