Wellington, FL - Sure, it's only Training Level, but oh what baby steps they were, for Lisa Hyslop and her six year-old Dutch homebred, Devon, whose 76.875% Training Level Test 1 score won both the class and week seven's The Horse Of Course High Score Award at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival CDIO3*/3* and National Show, February 19-23, at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center in Wellington, FL. “This is only her fourth show,” said Hyslop, of Oak Hammock Farm in Loxahatchee, where she bred the 16.3 bay mare, and owns her sire, Ubetcha, and dam, Tattersall (x Jet Set D). “She's a very sweet mare. Her mom has super tempo and suspension. Her sire has always showed a lot of articulation, and the best of both seem to have culminated in her,” she said.{C}Hyslop, who earned her 'S' judge's card last year, is thrilled with Devon’s high scoring start to her dressage career: “I'm back - riding down and not just sitting – at C!”

“Not many people might know that, at her very first dressage show as a teenager, Lisa got the Hard Luck Award for the lowest score at the show. Today, she is a USDF Gold, Silver and Bronze medalist who has ridden multiple Dressage Horses of the Year and, judging by her high score with Devon, her own bred, raised and trained mare, there are still many more high scores and achievements ahead. Congratulations!” said The Horse of Course, Inc. CEO, Beth Haist. One of the most highly regarded dressage attire and saddle outfitters in Florida and the south, The Horse of Course has been presenting High Score Awards for three seasons as part of one of the world's largest international and national dressage circuits.

“Devon will only turn six in July, so she's off to a nice start,” said the High Score Award winner, who accepted an embroidered saddle pad from Haist and The Horse of Course.
