Boxes and bleachers filled for the afternoon’s to watch top riders compete in the Grand Prix, the second of the CDI Olympic Selection Trials Qualifying Series in California. US Olympians controlled the top two positions: California’s Steffen Peters, won on Ravel with 71.75% and was closely followed by Susan Blinks on Mark with  68.792%.

World Equestrian Games US team member, Leslie Morse rode her Kingston to place third with 67.583%. Canada’s Leslie Reed on Orion secured fourth with 66.708. Hovering about the 64 percent mark, the top three riders repeated their success in the class with second horses: Peters and Prince in 8th with a 64.043, Blinks and Robin Hood in 5th with 64.875 and Leslie Morse and Tip Top in 6th with 64.833.

Peters win in Ravel’s second Grand Prix follows his win earlier this month at the LAEC CDI. Blinks win on Leatherdale Farm’s Mark follows her success with him at the Dressage Getaway in February where she competed him for the first time in over a year.
