Wellington, FL - Spring has sprung and Wellington has gone Palm Beach with Kat Fuqua on the cover of the luxury art & lifestyle magazine, Art Bodega. Readers are invited to immerse themselves in the post-season afterglow with fashion features, show profiles, and invites to two of the magazine's luxury and equestrian events!

Kat Fuqua Riding Star

Thirteen-year-old Fuqua headlines in stories about horse sport, high fashion, and the Palm Beach lifestyle. She steps out in fashions by the couture department of Saks Fifth Avenue, and Worth Avenue retailers Jennifer Tattanelli and Tamara Comolli jewelry, as well as styling from some of the world's top photographers and stylists for a Palm Beach chic vibe.

But the true first draw of Fuqua is her show resume. Not only a multi-National Grand Champion Hunter and Pony Hunter rider, she is also an equitation star, US Dressage Silver Medalist in the FEI Prix St. George, eight-time USEF Horse of the Year champion, and began competing in the competitive Medium Junior Jumpers, with top results.

Kat Adds a Passion for Fashion

But between the show arenas in Wellington, the Hamptons, Lexington, Tryon, and her home town of Atlanta, Fuqua's passion for fashion takes center stage. When not studying her virtual 7th-grade curriculum or perfecting her form in the saddle, she turns to her second passion behind the horses: the glitz and glamour of haute couture.

A natural bedfellow with the high powered, luxury driven equestrian scene, Art Bodega's high end brand draws parallels between equestrian style and high fashion via Fuqua and the prestigious World Polo League & Grand Champions Polo Club, organized by the Ganzi family, Mark & Melissa Ganzi.

Photographer of the Stars

Fuqua's cover shoot sets the tone of the equestrian issue, with international fashion photographer Patrice Casanova shooting the champion rider in a variety of evening gowns set against the Palm Beach blue backdrop of the Atlantic.

Casanova's past subjects also include celebrities like Brooke Shields, Margaux Hemingway, and Patti Hansen, in addition to portraiture for top fashion magazines.

Saks Fifth Avenue and equestrian outerwear fashion house Charles Ancona are brought to life by Fuqua on the main feature & cover story, with her rocking Herve Leger, Carolina Herrera, Dolce Gobbana, and Micheal Kors, among others.

Stylists Rebeca Herrero, owner of Art Bodega, and Shereen Fuqua, Kat's mom, bring the outfits to life in a variety of settings, from the jetties of Palm Beach to Worth Avenue's famous side streets.

Equestrian Fashionista In Style Celebrate At The Ritz

"The modeling is a nice change and it gives me a lot of confidence," said Fuqua. "I love wearing the pretty clothes and meeting new people, like the owner of the Art Bodega, Rebeca Herrero. She's really nice and fun to work with, and found some beautiful outfits. She gave me a lot of wonderful opportunities with this issue of the magazine, and her confidence and drive are really inspiring."

Equestrians and fashionistas are invited to two events this week with Art Bodega and Kat: an equestrian issue celebration at the Grand Champions Polo Club in Wellington on April 4th, and an upscale launch party at The Ritz Carlton Coconut Grove. The Coconut Grove event will feature a dinner with celebrity chef Todd English, and requires reservations. See the invites and more details on both events below!

Back To Business

Kat Fuqua

Kat Fuqua's passion for horses is reflected not only in her highly decorated, multi-discipline results, but also in the joy and dedication she shows each time she swings into the saddle.

Based out of Atlanta, Georgia and under the guidance of trainer Jimmy Torano for hunter/jumpers and Jason Canton for dressage, every aspect of Fuqua's riding, training, and show career reflects a unique ardor for equines and horse sport.

She balances her equestrian lifestyle with attendance as a full time 7th grade student at Holy Innocence Episcopal School and takes pride in developing alongside her horses.

In addition to riding, Kat enjoys spending time with her school friends and her favorite subject is French.
