In an unprecedented tour de force, students of Independence Dressage and trainer Karen Lipp swept the Adult Amateur FEI divisions at the VADA Fall-GAIG/USDF Region 1 Finals in Lexington, VA in October 2009.  In the Adult Amateur Grand Prix, student Christi Meyers and Wonderboy were Champion with a 64.681% and student Kris Zagoria on Pasop were Reserve Champion with a 63.617%.

The duo was reversed for the Adult Amateur Intermediate II division with Kris and Pasop Champions with a 62.895% and Christi and Wonderboy Reserve Champions with a 60.395%. In addition to training 10 students during the Region 1 Finals, Karen Lipp also found time to win the Grand Prix Musical Freestyle Championship on Latino with an impressive 68.167%.  When asked for the secret to her stunning success, Karen responded, “I am the luckiest trainer in the world. I have the best clients who dedicate themselves to being the best they can be.  I love what I do... it’s no secret!"
Karen’s students echo that those feelings are mutual.  “Karen’s positive approach and unwavering commitment to her clients and horses has made her the driving force behind all of our success this past weekend and this entire year. She is an incredible, one-of-a-kind-talent who is inspiring, smart, enthusiastic and passionate," said student Kris Zagoria. Christi Meyers added, "She genuinely finds more joy in our (her students) success and I know I speak for all of us to say we are deeply grateful.” Christi is also the owner of the state-of-the-art facility, Top Hat Dressage in Canton GA, where Karen and her students train and board.
