John Grimes Passed Away
Wednesday, June 26, 2019
A colorful, joyful and creative person known to many for many years in the Wellington Community of West Palm Beach has passed away. After a heartfelt battle with cancer, John passed away at home on Monday, June 24. He has left a legacy of his amazing accomplishments which will live on through the power and strength of his work, and the love of his family.
Born in Woodstock, Canada, he followed in his family’s footsteps and ran their sandpaper businesses. John and his father Phil were passionate about the environment and decided to take action and revolutionize the health of our waterways. From that, Weedoo was born, the industry leader in environmental workboats.
His creativity, ingenuity and love for the environment also inspired him to create Idlewild Furnishings, which showcased his artistry by designing exquisite home furnishings made of reclaimed teak.
John is survived by daughter Odette Mackenzie Grimes and wife Tara Ann Lordi who will continue to grow these unique businesses.
There will be a second service for John Grimes in his home country Canada. His family and friends are all welcome to join us Saturday June 29th. roadhouseandrose.com
A celebration of life party will be held at Idlewild in the fall.
In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s memory may be made to The Lord’s Place
