String of Success

Zen Elite Equestrian Center’s stunning black stallion, King’s Pleasure by Dark Pleasure was born with the gaits of an “elite” super star.  Not surprisingly, under the tutelage of trainer, Endel Ots his budding show career is already a string of successes. King’s Pleasure was debuted by Ots at the Global Dressage Festival this past March in Wellington, Florida where he scored over 76%.  Next the pair competed in the FEI Seven-Year-Olds test at the Gold Coast May Dressage Show, where they won their class with a 76.029%.

With very limited showing King’s Pleasure has danced between the first and second spot in the rankings for the 2022 US National Championships to be held in Wayne, Illinois in August. Ots has enjoyed seven victory passes with the Festival of Champions tricolored ribbons and cooler draped over his horses in the past decade. He has topped the Developing Horse Grand Prix and the Small Tour, but it is his string of victories in the FEI Young Horse divisions that he says he is most proud of.

When asked if King’s Pleasure will be his next mount aimed toward victory at the US National Champions, Ots answered with a wry smile saying, “We’ll see what this weekend brings.”

Ots and King’s Pleasure will compete in the Young Horse Qualifiers this weekend at the Ocala Summer Fun I qualifier at the Florida Horse Park.

Perhaps Ots is hoping to aim King’s Pleasure for the World Breeding Championships in Denmark in September.  Ots is also a veteran on that world stage, having represented the United States at two World Breeding Championships. Is he aiming for a third trip? If he is, King’s Pleasure’s owner Heidi Humphries would be thrilled.

Humphries is the owner and visionary behind Zen Elite Equestrian Center located in Southwest Ranches, Florida. Zen Elite Equestrian Center is everything the name suggests and much more. The impressive state of the art facility hosts a 20,000 sq. ft. insulated covered arena, two huge outdoor arenas and a full rehab/spa/gym for equines and humans. From the cascading waterfalls in the rider’s lounge, to its peaceful statues and inviting gardens, the equestrian center envelops visitors in a spa-like relaxed atmosphere.

But the Zen Elite Equestrian Center is more than just soothing to the soul. The facility is unique in its scope hosting grassroots dressage and jumping lesson programs in the same arenas where international trainers like Endel Ots are prepping international prospects, like King’s Pleasure.

Humphries vision is vast in its scope from hosting grassroot riding programs to fueling the US pipeline with international competition horses, with King’s Pleasure being her first foray into the National and International spotlight.  Her approach is legendary, in that it supports the future of horse sport while at the same time nurturing the youngest riders with a love of horses- all in the spa-like serene atmosphere of Zen Elite Equestrian Center. It is an inspiring formula for success.
