In 2014, Iron Spring Farm continued as a leader, finishing the year ranked in the top ten by the United States Equestrian Federation as breeders of both dressage horses and dressage breed show competitors. Among the standouts, UB40, with his offspring claiming numerous blue ribbons and year-end awards. His son Imperata, owned by Alicia Alecxih and bred by Pieter Ruig, was named Champion Colt at Dressage at Devon. Seven UB40 offspring earned KWPN-NA Top Five awards, including the North American Dressage Stallion/Gelding Champion, Godot SSF, bred and owned by Carroll and Carol Tolman. Florianus II also had a banner year as a sire. His daughter Floraya ISF continued her winning ways. The mare was awarded another victory at Dressage at Devon, this time in the Four-Year and Older Maiden Mares class, as well as her Star predicate from the KWPN.

Sir Sinclair’s daughters and sons also added to their sire’s reputation. Andorra ISF took home numerous ribbons from Dressage at Devon, including Reserve Grand Champion, Champion Mare and Champion Mature Horse. Among Sir’s older offspring winning at FEI: Air Marshall, Bolei, Warina, Westerstorm, Waku-Waku and Zuperman.

Contango, Preferent, offspring demonstrated why he is considered a legendary sire. Caravella, owned and ridden by Megan Lane, won CDI classes before representing Canada at the World Equestrian Games. Isabella, bred and owned by Melissa Hardy, was KWPN-NA North American Dressage Yearling Champion. Olympic event rider Boyd Martin is mounted on a Contango son—SBF Cortez, bred and owned by Denise Lahey. The pair debuted at the two-star level at Fair Hill.

Iron Spring Farm is also recognized for its top roster of Friesian stallions. Teade 392, Sport, one of the breed’s most prolific sires, had numerous 1st Premie offspring and champions during the FHANA keuring tour, including Tia of DMF, owned by Suzy and John Havermann. She was awarded her Model predicate, as well as Champion Mare and Overall Champion at her keuring. Ulbert 390, Sport’s offspring also received numerous accolades. Evita ISF was the National Champion in IBOP Driving, with an impressive score of 85.5.
