The Horses Who Shaped Her Career

The talented black horse had some real behavioral problems. His owner, Amy Awerbuch, could've taken him to any trainer in MI but decided to give Anna a shot at him. “If it weren't for her trust in me, I would never have gotten to ride a horse like him. Many people would rather have someone more experienced on a horse with his issues. Not only that but when she wanted to sell him she wanted me to have him and for that I owe her a huge thank you!” By selling a nice 5-year old that she had broke herself and making payments, Anna was able to purchase Nico. “That was a really nice horse I meant to keep for myself but there are other young horses around but not many Nicos.”
"Anna is an incredible rider who is blessed with a great feel." Awerbuch had first seen her at Nancy and Larry Murphy's barn in Clarkston, Michigan. "I was always in awe of her abilities." She competed Unico at Second Level in Wellington two years ago and showed him I-1 all last season, mostly, in Ocala and Orlando. With Nico, Anna is aiming for the Brentina Cup this year. He has shown I-2 with good scores but she says he’s still quite young and needs some strength.
