Great Meadow Hosts the Land Rover U.S. Eventing Team 2014 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games Prep Trials

On July 26th and 27th Great Meadow will host the Land Rover U.S. Eventing Team (USET) 2014 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games (WEG) Prep Trials, along with an exclusive VIP Dinner the evening of July 26th to benefit Great Meadow and the USET Foundation. The prep trials will serve as the final groundwork for the upcoming Alltech FEI WEG in Normandy, France.Olympic Gold Medalist, David O’Connor, Coach of the Land Rover U.S. Eventing Team will be on hand along with Land Rover U.S. Eventing Team for the 2014 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games members and alternates:

David O’Connor, Coach of the Land Rover U.S. Eventing Team, named Great Meadow as the site of the preparatory trials. Great Meadow’s 200-acre park was nearly doubled in size to develop a world-class facility that can now host a variety of USET high performance sport horse disciplines.

As a part of the upcoming preparatory trials, a special VIP Dinner Reception will take place on Saturday July 26th and serve as a major fundraising event with all proceeds benefiting the Great Meadow Foundation and USET. The VIP Dinner Reception will be held in a private tent overlooking the arena in conjunction with the show jumping phase of the preparatory trials. Tables are almost entirely sold out and range in price from $2,500 to $5000, with individual VIP dinner tickets on sale for $250 and individual VIP reception tickets on sale for $200. For regular general admission to the preparatory trials, a general admission car pass for all three phases (two days) is $50 and a single phase general admission car pass is $30. WEG Prep Trials Timeline

Saturday, July 26

  • 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m: Dressage tests in main arena
  • 12:00 p.m: Cross Country course walk with Jimmy Wofford 
  • 5:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m: VIP Dinner/Reception on berm overlooking show jumping arena 
  • 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m: Show Jumping tests in main arena 
  • 8:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m: Exhibition of bareback high jumping 
  • 10:00 p.m. –11:30 p.m: Dancing in the pavilion 

Sunday, July 27

  • 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m: VIP Breakfast at Great Meadow Summer House 
  • 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m: Cross Country tests on the race course 
  • 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m: Awards Presentation 
  • 12:00 p.m: Press Conference with leading team riders.
