The Gold Coast Opener Festival CDIW/J/Y/P will be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday January 21-23, 2011 at the Jim Brandon Equestrian Center, West Palm Beach, FL.
An international line-up of World Class Dressage begins at the Gold Coast Opener Festival CDIW will launch the High Performance season with entries from Germany, the Netherlands, Argentina, Ireland, Sweden, Denmark, Canada, Columbia, Venezuela, and of course the USA. There are multiple new horse/rider combinations ready for an exciting season to watch for some new "stars" in the international arena. “We are very happy to see a great turnout for the show, both on the national as well as CDI side.” Manager Noreen O’Sullivan told DressageDaily. “This is a Pan Am year and we have a very large showing in the Small Tour as riders vie for coveted spots to make their respective teams to compete in Guadalajara Mexico in October.

One of the GCDA Opener show highlights includes our Friday evening Competitors' Party generously hosted by Janne Rumbough with fabulous food and our first, and what plans to be very entertaining, "Stick Horse Quadrille"! Saturday evening will be the crowd pleasing CDIW Grand Prix Musical Freestyles under the lights at Jim Brandon.

With a lineup of vendors stocked for the season, shopping is at a premium as many new products are rolled out for the year, along with the tried and true favorites in the dressage world. With the helmet rule being discussed and voted on at the USEF Annual meeting this same week in Lexington, Kentucky, America is leading the world in awareness of the importance of a safety standard which is rapidly becoming the norm. ShoClothes is offering a chance to win a GPA helmet with purchase this week, and Courtney King Dye will be on hand to draw the lucky winner on Saturday.

With all three national coaches Debbie McDonald, Jeremy Steinberg, and Scott Hassler proponents of the Trilogy Saddle, the best seat awards recognizes an individual at each of the Florida CDI shows who demonstrates what represent a “Best Seat” in dressage.
