Olympic Gold Medalist, WEG Gold Medalist, and Two-time German Champion Dorothee Schneider Will Make U.S. Teaching Debut
(New England) – June 6, 2019 – Early bird ticket sales for this fall’s New England Dressage Association (NEDA) Symposium will open to members on Saturday, June 8th. This year’s Symposium will be held October 19-20th at the Mount Holyoke College Equestrian Center in South Hadley, Massachusetts. Olympic gold and silver medalist, and World Equestrian Games gold medalist Dorothee Schneider will headline the educational weekend.
Schneider has made two Olympic appearances, receiving team silver in London 2012 with a seventh place Individual, and, in Rio 2016, she won team gold with a sixth place Individual. At the 2018 World Equestrian Games, Schneider helped the German squad claim team gold. She also holds a team gold medal from the European Championships and rose to the top of the German dressage ranking in 2018. Currently she sits in the top ten for world rankings with the 2006 gelding Sammy Davis Jr. (by San Remo x Wenckstern).
The educational event follows two tremendously successful NEDA Symposia: 2017’s featuring Carl Hester, and 2018 with Charlotte Dujardin. Both were sell-out events. The 2019 NEDA Symposium will feature two days of horse and rider pairs, ranging from young horses to Grand Prix performers. On-line demo rider applications open June 26th.
Riders interested in applying should visit NEDA.org
NEDA President Phyllis LeBlanc commented, “We were delighted by the enthusiastic response we received when we first announced Dorothee Schneider as our headliner for the 2019 NEDA Symposium. The dressage community is in for a real treat, and we are honored to host Dorothee in her first U.S. teaching appearance.” The event will also feature veterinary lectures by Miller & Associates, and Atlantic Equine Services. During breaks, auditors will also have plenty of shopping opportunities in the popular Vendor Village.
Youth ticket holders (21 and under) will also be treated to a special “Meet and Greet” with Dorothee, sponsored by Dressage4Kids. The gathering is scheduled to be held after rides conclude on Saturday.
Tickets go on sale for NEDA members on June 8, 2019 with special early bird, discounted pricing through June 30th. Non-member pricing opens July 1st. A limited number of Patron tickets, featuring premium seating, parking, and access to the event’s Dressage Today Online Wine and Cheese Welcome Reception, will also be released for sale on June 8th.
