US Young Rider Lauren Asher keeps her cool to move from 18th place in the Grand Prix to 4th in the Freestyle Compiegne CDI France.

This past weekend in France the Compiegne CDI certainly had some highs and some lows. The U.S. Team won the CDIO5* with beautiful and commanding rides, with Kasey Perry Glass and Laura Graves first and second in the Grand Prix.

“Our Young Riders’ luck was more similar to the weather, sunny one moment and overcast and rainy the next,” reflected US Dressage Youth Coach George Williams. “Unfortunately, Kerrigan Gluch and Bebe Davis each had costly problems in the Individual test.”

Lauren Asher had a nice, mistake free ride with a 67% and was able to qualify for the Freestyle. “De Noir would not go past the live stream tent in the corner of the arena at first which led to some tension, but he stuck with me and motored on through for a pretty decent first test, ” Lauren said on her Facebook page.

Second to ride in the Freestyle Lauren was standing in 18th place. Riding well in the Freestyle, confidently and correctly, she scored a 71.958%, staying in the lead until near the end of the class, finishing 4th overall.

“I was proud of all of our riders,” Williams said. “Its a journey with more than the occasional bump in the road. Each and everyone handled the bumps well, and appreciated that’s it all part of the learning experience.”

“Once again, I want to thank everyone who has made this journey possible. A special thank you to Noel Solomon, Corie Bannon, Kjersten Lance, Menno, Sarah Davis, Endel Ots, Oded Shimoni & Bob Tenwolde for all their help at the show.”
