Delray Beach, FL – The Fidelis Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit that provides equine programs for Florida’s children in need, is hosting the Spring in the Saddle ‘Horse & Pony Ride’ Family Fun’raiser Event, Saturday, May 16th at the Sunshine Meadows Equestrian Village, in Delray Beach, FL, from 2-5pm.

“Events like Spring in the Saddle help spread the word about the foundation and provide an outlet for the children we serve to forget about their troubles for a few hours and run, play and feel safe. It’s amazing to watch our horses melt their defense mechanisms and unlock their little hearts, helping them heal and move forward during this difficult season.” says Stacy Gormley, the founder of the Fidelis Foundation.

The Spring in the Saddle event will feature horse & pony rides for children and adults, face painting, pie eating contests, family photos, games, raffle prizes and Starbucks iced beverages. Raffle prizes include a racing boat ride for 5 people from Turbine Marine ($1,000 value), a 14kt. gold horse heart necklace from Milano’s Jewelry ($385 value) and a $75 Gift Certificate to Morton’s Steakhouse.  Additional event contributors include Miami Seaquarium, Boca Beauty Club, Uncle Julio’s, City Oyster, Toojays, Publix, Everything but the Horse, Chuck E Cheese, Ed Morse Bayview Cadillac, Paula Wilson Photography and Sporthorse International.

Gormley, also an equine trainer and instructor, explains why she started the foundation and why equine assisted programs are so important. “I was a house parent for two foster homes run by 4Kids of South Florida and there I saw a need from the children to feel the kind of love and support horses provide. They needed an environment where they could feel at ease and safe again. The barn, our trainers and the horses provide an environment where the children can relax and release barriers preventing them from developing meaningful relationships.”

Admission to the Spring in the Saddle event is $25. To donate raffle items, sponsor, pre-purchase tickets or to purchase a ticket for a family from 4Kids of South Florida or Oasis, please contact

The Spring in the Saddle fundraiser event will begin at 2pm, rain or shine, at the Sunshine Meadows Equestrian Village which is located at 16668 Winner’s Circle, Delray Beach, FL, 33446.
