Together with Aachen’s Lord Mayor, Marcel Philipp, the organisers of the FEI European Championships Aachen 2015 presented the major sporting event at world's leading trade show ITB in Berlin.

Aachen not only stands for top equestrian sport, it also offers a unique atmosphere. Carl Meulenbergh, President of the Aachen-Laurensberger Rennverein (ALRV), organisers of the event, clearly underlined this in Berlin on Friday morning. "Anyone, who experiences this atmosphere live in the stadium once, comes back again and again,” commented Meulenbergh. It is therefore not at all surprising that there is already huge demand for tickets for one of the biggest sporting events in the year 2015. "Some of the first categories are already sold-out,” explained Meulenbergh.

Aachen won the bid due to its unique concept. Five disciplines will be staged simultaneously at the traditional showgrounds at the Aachener Soers, "five disciplines in one location – this is an absolute novelty,” said Carl Meulenbergh.

The excitement about these exceptional championships is correspondingly high. Around 450,000 visitors are awaited in the old Emperor’s City from August 11th-23rd. In addition to sporting highlights, they can also look forward to a comprehensive cultural programme that is being organised by the City of Aachen. "Aachen will present itself as an excellent host,” the Lord Mayor, Marcel Philipp, promised.
