Saugerties, NY – After successfully recognizing an array of high scoring riders at the Oklahoma Dressage Society Spring Shows in Tulsa, Oklahoma, The Horse of Course mobile tack shop continued its nationwide tour by heading to the Centerline Events dressage show at HITS on the Hudson in Saugerties, New York. The Horse of Course is known for its prominent support of the equestrian community through its supply of top-notch equestrian gear.

The company is also widely recognized for its official Horse of Course High Score Award, which it presents to the highest scoring dressage rider at shows across the country. While attending the Centerline Events dressage show, The Horse of Course rewarded another winning combination, Amy Gimbel and Eye Candy, with The Horse of Course High Score Award.

This month, the Horse Shows in the Sun dressage show saw competitors with goals spanning from personal bests to achieving qualifying scores for National Championships. Through it all, amateur rider Amy Gimbel of Lebanon, New Jersey stole the spotlight with the aptly named Eye Candy, a 2009 Dutch Warmblood (Weltmeyer x UB40) mare. The pair not only won their Third Level test, but also took home The Horse of Course High Score embroidered cooler and official tri-color ribbon for their superb 72.051 percent.

As the highest scoring adult amateur rider of the entire show, Gimbel was thrilled to receive the prize from The Horse of Course founder and CEO, Beth Haist. Gimbel remarked to Haist upon receiving the award, “Thank you so much for sponsoring the lovely cooler and ribbon for the High Score Award. It was such a wonderful surprise and really such an honor. Thank you for your support of the sport, and especially of the Adult Amateurs!”

The Horse of Course was proud to recognize the worthy pair for their excellent blue ribbon performance. The popular tack shop The Horse of Course is officially based in Claremore, Oklahoma with a travelling unit that can be found at shows across the country.

This summer, The Horse of Course will make pit stops at two more Centerline Events dressage shows on June 18-19 and August 18-21, where the company will also spotlight the shows’ highest-scoring pairs. On July 15-17, the mobile tack shop will be open for business at the Virginia Horse Center in Lexington, Virginia, as a sponsor of the Dressage at Lexington show.

The Horse of Course not only gives back to the equestrian community through its High Score Award and excellent merchandise, but also through its wealth of knowledge on tack care and fitting, especially when it comes to saddles and bits.

Marty Haist, the co-founder of The Horse of Course and Beth Haist’s husband, is a master saddle fitter who learned his craft while training in England. He now provides his expert saddle fitting skills and repair services at every competition that The Horse of Course travels to.

Beth Haist is The Horse of Course’s resident bit-fitting expert when it comes to choosing the correct weight and size for a successful connection between horse and rider. Haist has acquired an extensive knowledge by working with several bit engineers. She continually strives to educate riders about finding the perfect bit.

As an extension of the bit fitting process, The Horse of Course offers a service referred to as the “bit bank.” This service, available to all equestrians, gives riders the opportunity to try bits out on their horses before purchase. The Haists have a collection of bits exclusively for loan so that riders can find their horses’ perfect bit before making a major commitment.

The Horse of Course’s knowledgeable staff has been working since 1995 to help customers find exactly what they need quickly in between classes, so riders can spend less time shopping and more time in the saddle. The company is the one-stop-shop for all riders, and presents popular brands such as König, Pikeur, Vespucci, Cavallo, Passier, and Sommer.
