Euro Update: Master Proclaimed Swedish Stallion of the Year

Breeding News!The Swedish Warmblood stallion Master 850 has been proclaimed Stallion of the Year by the Swedish Breeding Promotion Society ASVHE. Master is ranked seventh on the 2008 World Breeding Ranking for dressage and has sired FEI high ranked Grand Prix dressage horses Max (under Kyra Kyrklund), Tip Top (under Leslie Morse), Vivo (under Maria von Essen) and Master Mind (under Nathalie Zu Saeyn-Wittgenstein).
Master (by Ceylon x Iran x Sombrero) was born in 1988 and bred by Poul-Erik Lang. Under Kyra Kyrklund, the stallion built up an impressive performance record. He won the Swedish championships both as a 5 and 6 year old. He was unbeaten nationally and internationally at all levels up to and including Intermediare I. He won the World Cup qualifier in Aarhus, Denmark in 1997. His personal best performance was finishing sixth at the 1998 World Cup Finals. Master's show career ended when he got injured while covering.
Master's offspring is proving its worth by scoring at the highest level in dressage. At the 2008 CDI Wiesbaden, three of fifteen horses competing in the Kur to Music were sired by this stallion. Anna Blomgren Hired as a Rider at Helgstrand Dressage.
Ann Blomgren has been riding at Blue Hors stud for four years, one year at Rudolf Zeilinger's and five year with Swedish Louise Nathhorst. She has trained horses up to Grand Prix level, competed at the World Young Horse Championships and she won team bonze at the European Young Riders Championships. One of the horses Blomgren is currently riding at Helgstrand Dressage is the Hanoverian premium stallion Wilkens (by Waterford x Falkland x Lanthan), which sold to Denmark at the 2006 Hanoverian Stallion Licensing. Classic Sales Warendorf, a New Auction for Classically Schooled Horses
Susanne Miesner and Fabian Scholz are organizing an auction Classic Sales Warendorf for classically trained horses on April 11, 2009. Classical Sales is an auction made up of a select group of talented horses chosen from breeders and owners known for following guidelines based on good care and training methods and sound horsemanship. The horses are not trained with draw reins and have been turned out in the paddock daily. The auction will be preceded by a seminar with former Dance World champion Michael Hull.
