Two big national dressage shows, with an international field of competitors, took place last weekend in Germany. At the CDN in Munster, Susanne Lebek became the surprise winner of the Grand Prix Special. Aboard her Swedish bred Healey’s Beluga, she scored 73.080%. The Grand Prix was won by Isabell Werth on Apache OLD with 72.25%. In the Grand Prix for Kur, Werth reigned on the liver chestnut Polano while the 22-year old Matthias Alexander Rath finished second aboard Renoir Unicef (by Rubinstein). Rath rook over the ride on the huge Renoir from his mother Ann Kathrin Linsenhoff. In Munster, he won the Kur to Music with 76.53%.

At the CDN in Verden Karin Rehbein showed three horses and placed first and twice second with them. Aboard the Don Primero offspring Dionysos, she won the Prix St Georges and placed second with Florianus (by Florestan). Her top mare Cherie FRH (by Don Primero) made her Grand Prix debut after being injured for a long time and finished second behind Jochen Vetters on Fanano.

In Verden, the annual "Hanoverian Stallion of the Year" riding championship took place. Two stallions – Dancier (by De Niro) and Loxsley (by Londonderry) – were selected to compete in this championship. Under Wolfhard Witte, the Licensing champion Dancier became the undisputed winner and was named "Best Hanoverian Born in 2002"
