EQUITANA, aka the “mother of all equestrian fairs”, has been setting international standards and generating fresh ideas for the entire equestrian sports industry since 1972. Look for EQUITANA USA coming to America beginning with their Conference programs in March 2017. Taking place every other year in Essen, Germany, with more than 200,000 visitors and 850 vendors from 30 nations, it’s among the best known events in equestrian sports. EQUITANA Open Air, Germany’s largest equestrian sports festival for hobby riders, has been held in alternating years since 1998.

If you ride, you may know EQUITANA. Now the world’s largest trade fair in equestrian sports is headed back to North America: EQUITANA USA will take place in Atlanta in 2018; the inaugural EQUITANA USA Open Air will be held in California in 2017, and the EQUITANA USA Conference Program will launch in March of 2017.

The original EQUITANA trade fair in Germany is organized by Reed Exhibitions, the largest organizer of trade fairs and exhibitions worldwide. EQUITANA USA, EQUITANA USA Open Air and EQUITANA USA Conference Program will be staged as licensed events by US organizer EQU Expo, LLC, from Naperville Illinois.

EQUITANA USA Open Air will take place in Temecula, California, October 20-22, 2017

EQUITANA USA will be held in Atlanta, Georgia, October 4-7, 2018.

The EQUITANA USA Conference Program will be presented in multiple cities throughout the US starting in March of 2017.

Like the trade fair in Germany, EQUITANA USA will be the forum that promotes the exchange of ideas, information and experience to enhance the Horse and personal excellence and provides high standards of quality among those with an interest in the Horse. EQUITANA USA is targeting the domestic and international equestrian consumer and retail trade for North America.

“EQUITANA USA will become a landmark event - one created with vision and purpose which markets the future of equestrian sports”, says Robert Keegan from EQU Expo, LLC. “It is our responsibility as the show's producer to set forth practical, professional and socially correct themes in order to awaken new interest and markets around the Horse”.

EQUITANA USA will be produced every other year. The event will feature all breeds and all disciplines in addition to a comprehensive presentation of domestic and international vendors, sponsors, partners, buyers, entertainment, special events, educational seminars, clinics, theme days and forums. In addition, it will also showcase training, breeds, stallions and discipline demonstrations.

EQUITANA – one of the most successful brands in equestrian sports

“EQUITANA is a fixture and one of the most famous brands in equestrian sports”, says Hans-Joachim Erbel, CEO of Reed Exhibitions Deutschland GmbH. “We’re convinced that EQUITANA USA will be a success; the North American market offers ideal conditions for that”, adds Erbel. The US equestrian market is one of the largest in the world according to the American Horse Council, some 9.2 million horses live in the US. Equestrianism directly contributes USD $39 billion annually to the US economy and provides over 1.4 million jobs.
