Ella Kraut of Devon, NJ, was awarded the Show Jumping Hall of Fame Style of Riding Award at the 2022 Hampton Classic Horse Show. The Style of Riding Award is presented to the Junior Jumper rider who best exemplifies the American style of equitation, as modeled by Show Jumping Hall of Famers such as Conrad Homfeld and Joe Fargis.

Kraut, who is trained by Frank Madden and his team at Capital Hill Show Stables, competed with several horses in the High Junior/Amateur Jumper division, including the $25,000 Agneta and Brownlee Currey Junior/Amateur Jumper Classic, a member event of the Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series. Kraut finished fourth in the Classic with her 9-year-old Dutch Warmblood mare Nakia. She also rode Pablo Mejia’s 9-year-old Selle Francais mare Dream De San Isidro through the division, including the $10,000 Lugano Diamonds Junior/Amateur Welcome Stake.

Additionally, Kraut was a 2021 New England Equitation Championships finalist with Ruby Ransco’s 10-year-old Hanoverian gelding Topper and ASPCA Maclay finalist with Holman Imports LLC’s 9-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding Ironman.

The Series is designed to give amateur and junior riders the opportunity to compete at higher levels and serves as a proving ground for many riders who aspire to represent the United States in international competition. Each month the Series honors the one rider and one horse who earn the most points in Series competition that month with the Rider of the Month Award Sponsored by Charles Ancona and Horse of the Month Award Sponsored by Lisa Seger Insurance.

The Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series is sponsored by Blenheim EquiSports, Charles Ancona, CMJ Sporthorse, ESP, The Hampton Classic Horse Show, Kentucky Horse Park, LAURACEA, Lisa Seger Insurance (LSI), National Horse Show Association of America, Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital and United States Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA).
