Dressage Olympian Carl Hester Holds Court at NEDA Fall Symposium

Saturday, October 21, 2017

New Gloucester, ME - New England Dressage Association President Phyllis LeBlanc who also deliciously owns Dark Horse Chocolates introduced the renowned Carl Hester to the eager full capacity audience in his first ever visit to the northeast. Although the symposium was held indoors, it was a picture worthy autumn-hued day at Pineland Farms, offering a gorgeous setting.

It was Hester’s celebrity stature as a rider and trainer that brought out over 2,000 dressage fans to the two day event.

Although Carl confessed speaking in front of a crowd was “nerve-wracking” for himself, he smoothly turned to his positive, relaxed delivery laced with humor that you imagine and feel is exactly how he rides his horses and why they progress so well.

Over 100 videos were submitted to a selection committee, with fourteen horse and rider combinations selected.

DressageDaily's feature writer Holly Jacobson attended and has provided us with in depth coverage of each participant capturing the impact of Hester's humor, insight, observations as he generously shared his Gold Medal expertise.
