Europe is a busy place for news especially with the kick off of the Reem ACRA FEI World Cup in Gothenburg, Sweden. Will Adelinde Cornelissen and Parzival be able to defend the title against some pretty stiff competition! Totilas absence in the show ring after sustaining a knee injury in the breeding shed will likely continue. See when the stallion may actually return to competition. U.S. Olympian Jan Ebeling is getting a new ride after a 10 owner syndicate was put together and what a nice ride it is! Check out an Arabian that is quite a record breaker in the dressage arena and see what his accomplishments are. Lets all root for Sy Budofsky! Why you ask? He is geared for action to try to become the 127th person to be inducted in the Century Club for horse/rider combinations that has a collective age of over 100!This weekend doesn't look too busy with only a scattering of shows across the country. We will kick off in the south with the Wellington Classic Dressage Challenge III in Wellington, FL and the The Good Horseman/Massey Ferguson Dressage at the Horse Park in Conyers, GA. In middle America we have the Oklahoma Dressage Society Spring I and II in Shawnee, OK, the Houston Dressage Society, Inc. Spring Classic I and II in Katy, TX, the SNC Spring Dressage Show in Carson City, NV and the Amigos De Dressage 1 in Sunland Park, NM. California wraps up the weekend with the Yarra Yarra Dressage May in Pleasanton and CDI action at the Del Mar National Dressage - Dressage Week.

Lots of European News this week starting with the Reem Acra FEI World Cup™ Dressage 2012/2013 Final in Gothenburg, Sweden. Top names in the sport will try to topple the defending two time title holder Adelinde Cornelissen and Parzival. Germany will however be down one member as Kristina Sprehe and Desperados FRH are out of the competition when Desperados injured himself in a morning work session.

Totilas will once again miss a major competition as it looks unlikely that he and rider Matthias Rath will qualify for the 2013 European Dressage Championships. Paul Schockemöhle stated that it is not a goal in the stallion's future and the pair will aim towards the 2014 World Equestrian Games in Normandy. Check out the full story at Eurodressage.com.

Also being reported by Eurodressage.com is that American Jan Ebeling has a new ride! The 10-year-old Hessian stallion Rassolini has been purchased from Detlef Ruddat by a syndicate of 10 owners in hopes of earning a spot for Jan at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio! Check out the video in the upper right hand corner of the story.

The website horsetalk.co.nz has a story from The Arabian Sport Horse Magazine of the highly accomplished 23-year-old Arabian gelding Cygnus that lives in North Dakota. Learn how he came to be only the second horse in the country to earn a USDF Performance Certificate at every level and is in the top 50 horses of all time for the number of Grand Prix test - an impressive 72 test! Check out he and his rider's story of how they formed their partnership (not always so easy) and went on to break records. Read More!
Sy Budofsky grew up wanting to be a cowboy and probably did not see his path leading him into the dressage arena to show at almost 90 years of age! Sy took up riding and did a long stint in the hunter/jumper world until family members talking him out of jumping. Sy leases a horse now and rides dressage a few days a week. When his wife and friends told him about The Century Club (where the horse and riders combined age is over 100) it gave him the incentive to get back in the show ring! Check out his story here!
