Charlotte Dujardin has made history once again by taking over the top spot on the FEI World Individual Dressage Rankings. This is the first time ever that a British rider has occupied the #1 spot! After conquering the 2012 London Olympic Games, Charlotte and her Dutch Warmblood partner Valegro, moved ahead of Adelinde Cornelissen (NED) and Jerich Parzival who had remained at the top of the list since July of 2011. Germany has five pairs in the top 10 showing that they are still clearly a country to be reckoned with. Steffen Peters moved up from 192nd to 16th. Read the full story here!

Talk About Laminitis's website has an interesting article on hormonal disorders and their effect on laminitis in horses and ponies. Equine Cushing’s disease (PPID) and Equine Metabolic Syndrome (EMS) are the two most common hormone or “endocrine” disorders in horses and there is now evidence that suggest that 9 out of 10 horses/ponies that have laminitis have an endocrine disorder. The website http://www.talkaboutlaminitis.co.uk/# is a very nice resource with information on these metabolic disorders and their connections to laminitis. Check it out here!
