FEI NORTH AMERICAN YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIPS



The Adequan FEI North American Junior Young Rider Championships, presented by Gotham North kicks off in Lexington, KY running from July 17-21, 2013! 222 Juniors and Young Riders will converge on the Bluegrass State from the U.S., Canada and Mexico! The youngsters will be competing for both Indiviual and Team Medals in Dressage, Eventing, Show Jumping, Reining and Endurance. Check out coverage on DressageDaily.com!
The British Olympic Dream Team wil be back together for the European Championships held in Denmark in August. Joining Carl Hester, Charlotte Dujardin and Laura Tomlinson (Bechtolsheimer) will be Michael Eilberg. While Charlotte has been competing Uthopia successfully Carl will be reclaiming the ride for the Europeans. The 2014 Global Dressage Festival has been granted permission by the Wellington Village Council to go forward with the 2013/2014 season. While the decision was unanimous there were certain conditions that will need to be met in order to stay in compliance such as hours that shows can run, parking, entertainments, etc. Check out the complete story for a more comprehensive coverage of the council meeting.
A wonderful camp in Ohio uses horses to help children deal with grief after losing someone close to them. Sadly equine encephalitis is getting worse in South Carolina. So far 4 horses in Horry County have been put down and three others are awaiting test results. Dr. Karen Bolten of the Myrtle Beach Equine Clinic says that this year is far worse than ever seen in years past. The rain has been a very big contributer as the mosquito population has increased due to the humid wet conditions.
