The organizers were unable to meet certain requirements set forth by the FEI in the time frame required so the FEI had no choice but to withdraw the finals. While Las Vegas had submitted a bid to host along with Guadalajara it is not automatic for the Finals to move to the US. The Vegas organizers have been contacted and no decision has yet been made. In my last News Notes I had written about the minis from Gentle Carousel heading to New Town, CT to help offer some comfort to the town after the Sandy Hook tradegy. USA Today online has a story about the actual visit (with pictures of the adorable horses). The minis were requested by several New Town residences. One of the horses, Majic was "voted one of Time Magazine's 10 most heroic animals of all time in 2011, based on her visit to a patient in an assisted-living facility who hadn't spoken in three years. Garcia-Bengochea says that moments after the horse came into the room, the woman spoke — she continues to speak to this day." Check them out - they are truly adorable and have so musch to offer!
