The NAJYRC held in Lexington, KY had to battle the elements as the nations top Junior/Young Riders competed for top honors. The World Dressage Masters Hickstead 5* also took place with exciting competition with world class scores of 80+%! The Lendon Youth Dressage Festival - Midwest will take place this weekend at Hampton Green Farm and will also host a clinic for the Emerging Dressage Athlete Program. The FEI European Dressage Championships are shaping up to be a huge affair with tickets going fast! The FEI has released its Long list of five star judges that will preside over the dressage competition at the 2012 London Olympic Games. An important chapter in European breeding has come to an end with the announcement that Gestut Gronwohldhof, home of the Rehbeins and Donnerhall, will be closing it's doors...

Summer keeps heating up but the heat can't keep good shows down! The season marches on in the south with the EEMI Summer Fling in Leesburg, VA, the SVDA, Inc. Summer Dressage in Williamsburg, VA, the NCDCTA Summer Mountain Getaway in Fletcher, NC and the GAIG/USDFBC Deep South Dressage And Combined Training Association Northwest Florida Classic III. The north and the mid west are relatively quiet with the Wits End Farm Dressage in Jackson, NJ, the Fifth Annual Breed & Dressage Show I & II in Middletown, NY, the Children of the Americas Dressage Invitational in Concord, MA and the Bara Trac II Dressage and Bara Trac II Too in Mason City, IA. Out west there are several shows including the Dressage In The Rockies I, II and III in Parker, CO, the Cheyenne Dressage & Eventing Club Open Dressage in Cheyenne, WY and the Powderhouse Dressage Explosion in Missoula, MT. On the west coast we have quite a few shows as well - Dressage at Spirit Equestrian in Somis, CA, Yarra Yarra Dressage August in Pleasanton, CA, Dressage At Lake Oswego Hunt in Lake Oswego, OR and the Summervale Dressage Festival I and II in Roy, WA. Alaska offers the ADA Biggest Event Ever in Anchorage, AK.

The World Dressage Master's Hickstead 5* has come to a close with Adelinde Cornelissen and Parzival prevailing in the Freestyle with a 84.925%! Carl Hester's Uthopia is a horse to be watched. The pair were came second to in the Freestyle but earlier in the show, they bested Adelinde and Parzival in the Grand Prix with an 80.87%! Hester is hoping to medal at the London Olympic games with his beautiful stallion. Read the coverage and see the results!

The USDF/Platinum Performance North American Junior and Young Rider Dressage Championship held at the Kentucky Horse Park hads its ups and downs with the relentless weather. First the opressive heat and humidity (which caused the show organizers to waive coats other than in the awards) and then the torrential rains! Top Junior/Young Riders perserved through it all for top competition throughout the week! Check out all the stories and see results!

The Lendon Youth Dressage Festival - Midwest, as well as the first regional "Section A" Clinic for the new Emerging Dressage Athlete Program, will be held this weekend, August 5-7 at Hampton Green Farm's Fruitport, Michigan farm. Courtney Kiing-Dye will be the special guest and judge. The regional "Setion A" Clinic on Friday and Saturday is for dressage riders under 21 who are interested in working with Lendon Gray and qualifying for the invitational "Section B" sessions in Wellington, Florida with Robert Dover and Courtney King-Dye. The 25th FEI European Championships, which will be held August 17-21, have a record breaking 21 Countries hoping to compete which would make it the biggest EC to date. The Championships take place every two years in the middle of the Olympic cycle and will serve as an 2012 Olympic qualifier for some. The Freestyle has been sold out and tickets for the remaining days are going quickly! Read More about the Championships here!

The 2012 London Olympic Dressage Judge's Long List has been released by the FEI. The list includes 11 five star judges from 8 countries. Stephen Clarke has been appointed as President of the Ground Jury, Belgium's Jacques Van Daele will be Chief Dressage Steward and Poland's Wojtek Markowski has been named the Technical Delegate. The legendary Gestut Gronwohldhof, home of Herbert and Karin Rehbein as well as the incomperable Donnerhall has announced that it is closing it's doors and the property will be sold. Otto's son, 65-year old Henrik Schulte-Frohlinde, explained that the property has been for sale for a long time already but now he will close the barn's door as a previous announced sale did not take place due to failing payment.
