The news of Germany's Matthias Rath heading to Sjef Janssen's training system is still generating much controversy and discussion. Now the Rothenberger family is weighing in with well thought out insight into how they see the "trench war between 'the Dutch' and 'Germans'". While many see the two systems as "black and white" there is much to be learned in looking carefully at both systems as the Rothenbergers point out - "He who thinks he can do everything or knows everything has already reached the beginning of the end." In more Euro News - we all rememeber the magnificent World Champion mare Poetin (Sandro Hit x Brentano II) that was tragically euthanized after suffering from severe laminitis. Te mare was part of a lawsuit between the Dutch bank ING and Frenchman Xavier Marie's Haras de Hus where it was alleged that ING knew of the mares issues and that Poetin was havily medicated during the auction where she was presented under saddle. Poetin was put down only three months after being aquired by Xavier Marie. See how the court case turned out here!

In both a heart wrenching, as well as heart warming story - an Australian woman out on a ride with her daughter along an Australian coast line found herself and her horse buried in mud for more than 3 hours. While her daughter also sank with her horse, Miss Graham was able to help free the pair before returning to her own horse to help hold his head up as the tide came in.
