Paragon Dressage Show Manager Janet Foy and FEI vet Mike Tomlinson contribute to Dressagedaily with a bird's eye view of the Paragon CDI***. Cloud cover cooled down the record heat in the beautiful resort town of Estes Park, Colorado. Judges were thrilled to see a herd of 12 elk cross the road on the way to the showgrounds Friday morning. The CDI***  and the USEF/USDF National competition is hosting 150 horses from 8 states. Estes Park is situated at the base of the Rocky Mountain National Park. The showgrounds have a lake on one side and towering mountains on three other sides.  Today in the CDI*** the quality of the performances matched the scenery!

The FEI Prix St. Georges was won by Californian Carolyn Adams riding the black Hanoverian stallion Winterprinz. The panel of FEI judges from Canada, Argentina, India and the United States awarded the pair a 68.553%. Carolyn, riding with a broken  foot was thrilled!  She is hoping to earn an  invitation to Gladstone for the Pan American Games selection trials.

Adrienne Lyle and her coach Debbie McDonald traveled from Sun Valley, Idaho with Wizard to win the Grand Prix with a 72.191%. All five international judges awarded the pair over a 70%. Hilda Gurney the judge at "C" praised the pair and said "today he looked like a team horse for the USA."
