Whether you are a novice or advanced rider this seminar has something to offer you. Jane Savoie, a member of the US equestrian team and Olympic dressage coach and author, will present a two day seminar using demo riders that will cover how to work with your horse over the spectrum of the training scale. The seminar will be held on March 22-23, 2014 from 9am – 4 pm both days at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa, Florida.
Jane has been delivering her high energy messages since 1992. She has inspired and motivated groups from 20 to 7,000 in almost every state in the United States as well as Canada, Bermuda, Mexico, Australia, and Greece. She has written five books, including Dressage 101 and That Winning Feeling, and collaborated on eight additional titles. Her best-selling books have been translated into French, German, Dutch, Spanish, Italian, and Polish. They are also distributed in England and Australia. Jane will be holding a book signing on Saturday at the conclusion of the day’s program.

Jane has been a member of the United States Equestrian Team since 1991 and has represented the United States in competition in Germany, Holland, France, Belgium, and Canada. She was the reserve rider for the bronze medal winning Olympic dressage team in Barcelona in 1992. She was the 1996 and 2004 Olympic dressage coach for the Canadian 3-Day Event Team in Atlanta and Athens. She also coached several top dressage and 3-Day Event riders for the 2000 Olympics, and while in Sydney she helped US rider Susan Blinks secure a bronze medal for the US dressage team.
Content for this seminar will include demo riders from Training to Fourth Level. Jane will talk to each level of the training scale, how to train your horse to maximize ability at the current level and prepare for the next level. Additionally, she will provide sessions on helping one-sided horses become ambidextrous, tests of poll, body suppleness, and connection. Finally, she will present seminars on training in basic and advanced lateral work.

I took a similar seminar from Jane a couple of years ago and came away with so many new ideas and understanding of the inter-connected relationships between training scale, suppleness and horse condition. While I am more on the novice end, my trainer found the seminar just as developmental and since the seminar our barn has seen growth in many horses and riders testing levels at schooling and rated shows.
The Lakeland Dressage Association (LDA) is sponsoring this event, with the help of a grant from the Dressage Foundation. To purchase tickets to see Jane Savoie please go to here.
