Demi Haerkens Strikes Grade IV Gold During the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games

Demi Haerkens (NED) struck Grade IV gold on her Paralympic Games debut as she triumphed on Daula on the second day of Para Dressage Individual Medal Events at Château de Versailles.

The 26-year-old, who announced herself by winning European Championship gold last year, excelled with her chestnut mare in the sunlit arena to finish with a score of 78.722%.

Defending champion Sanne Voets (NED), who won double individual gold and team silver on Demantur in Tokyo, partnered the same horse to silver, securing her fifth Paralympic medal overall with 76.528%.

Anna-Lena Niehues (GER) took bronze on Quimbaya 6 with 75.222%, edging out Frenchman Vladimir Vinchon on Pegase Mayenne for the final medal.

The Silver Medal went to the Netherland’s Sanne Voets and Demantur and the Bronze went to Germany’s Anna-Lena Niehues and Quimbaya.
