Rotterdam, The Netherlands — Custom Saddlery MVR (Most Valuable Rider) Steffen Peters has ridden into an Olympic dressage ring to represent his country not once, not twice, but four times. And now he’s officially been chosen to do it again. After impressive performances at The Dutta Corp.
United States Dressage Team’s last European Observation Event at the CSI3*/CSI5* 2016 CDIO Rotterdam this past weekend, the United States Equestrian Federation named Peters to the U.S. team heading to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil along with Laura Graves, Allison Brock, Kasey Perry-Glass, and traveling reserve Shelly Francis.
Peters has stood in the spotlight of international dressage for a long time, and has sat in a Custom Saddlery saddle for nearly as long. As the Official Saddle of The Dutta Corp. U.S. Dressage Team, Custom Saddlery is thrilled to congratulate Peters and all riders who were named to the team.
Peters, of San Diego, California, was named to the U.S. Olympic Dressage Team with Four Winds Farm’s Legolas 92, a 2002 Westphalian gelding. The duo rode to second place in the Rotterdam CDIO 5* Grand Prix Kur to Music this weekend with a 79.650 percent after placing fifth in the Rotterdam CDIO 5* Grand Prix with a 76.040 percent.

In both the Rotterdam CDIO 3* Grand Prix and CDIO 3* Grand Prix Special, Peters and Four Winds Farm’s Rosamunde 20 placed first, scoring 75.920 percent and 75.157 percent, respectively. Rosamunde, a 2007 Rhinelander mare, has been named the direct reserve on the U.S. Olympic Dressage Team, meaning that she will replace Legolas as Peters’ partner if the need should somehow occur.
The dressage competition at the 2016 Olympic Games will take place on August 8-15 at the Deodoro Olympic Equestrian Center in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
As Peters prepares for yet another Olympic competition, he keeps his favorite tack and equipment on hand. “Custom saddles are simply the best saddles on the market,” Peters says.
Steffen Peters rides Legolas in a Custom Revolution model, and Rosamunde in an Icon Flight. Custom Saddlery offers over 20 innovative saddle models, with countless customizable options and attractive accents to chose from.
The company also provides professional saddle fitting services across the United States and around the world.
