Conyers, GA — Custom Saddlery treated competitors to a well-deserved evening of relaxation and socialization at the Great American Insurance Group/United States Dressage Federation Region 3 Dressage Championships in Conyers, Georgia on October 9-11. Custom Saddlery, the Official Saddle of the United States Dressage Team, also unveiled its new Wolfgang Matrix saddle at the Championships. Custom Saddlery works to bring the most innovative saddles to the market, and offers an extensive selection of models with a variety of trees to fit any horse and rider combination.
The saddle company was proud to sponsor the competitors’ party at the Region 3 Dressage Championships, and to offer the competitors a chance to try the Wolfgang Matrix on their horses throughout the weekend. “Our Matrix features a unique hybrid panel,” Custom Saddlery fitter Catherine Overstreet from Alabama explained. “It has a memory foam base to give more support to the rider and provide comfort for the horse. It’s flocked, so it’s fully adjustable to allow for modification for any symmetry or balance issues. We’ve seen horses go phenomenally in it.”
Atlanta-based Custom Saddlery fitter Nancy Bardy added that the flockable and adjustable hybrid panel works well for a variety of horses and riders. “It dampens down the trot for the riders or, if you have a horse without a lot of topline, it offers extra support,” she said. “The benefit is that it’s a softer ride and you can get the cushion that you would get from a half-pad without the bulk, so the horse really loves the comfort. It’s built on a Wolfgang type tree and creates a nice forward and upright seat for the rider. It comes in a full Vienna or Vienna leather treatment option, so it’s got a beautiful finish to it.”
When helping riders select the perfect saddle for themselves and their equine partners, Custom Saddlery’s well-trained fitters start by assessing the horse to determine which tree will best fit. From there, they custom-build the saddle to accommodate the rider. With Custom saddle fitters located throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, and even China, a well-fitting Custom Saddlery saddle is always within reach.
Overstreet and Bardy said they were pleased to honor competitors at the October 9-11 Region 3 Championships held at the Georgia International Horse Park, and that many riders using Custom Saddlery saddles qualified for the show.
“Region 3 is an area that’s close to our hearts because Custom is based in South Carolina, and, of course, we have so many wonderful customers in Florida and Georgia,” Overstreet said. “We love to give back to our clientele who are so wonderful to us. Bardy agreed. “We feel like their accomplishments are our accomplishments. It’s really a team effort to get these horses and riders where they need to be, and we love to be a small part of that team.”
Custom believes teamwork is vital to success, which is a reason the company has paired with The United States Equestrian Federation (USEF), which has named Custom Saddles the Official Saddle of the U.S. Dressage Team through the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Custom Saddlery representatives will be available at the 2015 U.S. Dressage Finals on November 5-8 at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky, to help even more riders find the perfect saddle for themselves and their horses.
