Wellington, FL - Canadian Evi Strasser of Good Tyme Stables has been having exactly that at Wellington, first winning the Palm Beach Dressage Derby Intermediare I Kur on March 2 with her charismatic 17 hand partner, Rigaudon Tyme, and then accepting the Choice of Champions Performance Award from president Allyn Maix during the AGDF10 CDI weekend, March 15-16, at Wellington. Strasser, whose riding career began in her native Bavaria, Germany, has brought the powerful bay Oldenburg (by Rosario) gelding up through the levels since he was a three-year-old, an experience she has described as occasionally stressful, but incredibly rewarding.“He's a spectacular and strong horse, and has been riding great since we came to Wellington. Next year, I think we'll come four weeks earlier,” the multiple World Cup finalist said, adding that she had also been thinking about trying out the Choice of Champions line of products, and the COC Performance Award was going to present the perfect opportunity.

“I'm really excited to try these,” Strasser told Maix after the pair delivered strong scores in the mid- to upper 60s in both their FEI Prix St Georges and Intermediare I tests.

“And we're happy to provide you with that chance!” laughed Maix, who was on hand at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center to salute the COC Performance Award winner and present her with its award and prize embroidered saddle pad.

Throughout the winter-long series, which concludes at the end of March, the COC Performance Award has been saluting exceptional performances by horses and/or riders at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival.

"Every day, we work to get a little better. With horses that are almost doing Grand Prix, it's sometimes harder to ride (a lower level test) because they are quicker than the 'average' PSG horse. They are way more alert,” Strasser added, happily accepting her award and eager to unwrap her COC products and put them in her tack box.

In 2006, Choice of Champions, International was started by Allyn Maix, whose own 30 years experience with horses inspired her to launch a line of specialized equine supplements designed to make a real difference in the performance and wellbeing of equine athletes.  Learn what a difference Choice of Champions can make for your horses at www.choiceofchamps.com or call their Wellington, Florida office toll-free at (800) 868-1077.
