CHI Geneva in Switzerland One Of Four Prestigious Events in the Rolex Grand Slam
Monday, December 9, 2024 | Mary Phelps
The CHI Geneva 2024 features one of the Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping competitions. This concept unites four of the most prestigious and historic equestrian shows—the CHIO Aachen (GER), the Spruce Meadows “Masters” of Calgary (CAN), the Dutch Masters of ‘s-Hertogenbosch (NED) and the CHI Geneva—brought together by a shared passion for the sport, excellence, and respect for tradition.
These events have been the riders’ firm favorites for years and are the Majors constituting the Grand Slam of Show Jumping. Henceforth, a Grand Slam comprises four legs, just like those of tennis and golf.
Defending champion Steve Guerdat will not be the only Swiss rider competing in the 23rd Rolex IJRC Top 10 Final (Friday 13 December, 9pm). Initially, the first reserve, Martin Fuchs, joins the prestigious line-up following the withdrawal of USA-based Irish rider Conor Swail, who has chosen not to travel across the Atlantic with his horses. Two riders crossing the “pond” for the Final are Kent Farrington and McLain Ward, heading up a sizeable US contingent at the CHI Geneva.
