Ottawa, ON—The Canadian Eventing Team’s International Technical Advisor, David O’Connor, has submitted his application to coach the US Eventing Team commencing in 2013.

O’Connor is held in very high regard for his work with the Canadian Eventing Team, and his five years of service has transformed the high performance program, and left an indelible mark with Team silver medal performances at both the 2007 Pan American Games and the 2010 World Equestrian Games.
Chef d’équipe Graeme Thom said, “David has been in communication with us as he approached his application process with the United States. His commitment to our riders, our team and our sport organization finds us filled with appreciation and we wish David the best in his future endeavours.”

The Canadian Eventing Committee (CEC) would like to confirm, with the full support of the High Performance Committee, that O’Connor will remain in his role with the Canadian Evening Team through the 2012 Olympic Games. The CEC is confident that his professionalism and dedication will not only help us garner further international success but also ensure a smooth and productive transition for the years to come.”

Grit High, chair of Eventing High Performance, added, “We are looking forward to this year’s Pan American Games and the 2012 Olympics, and are thankful that David will be in a leadership role.”
