After an 18 hour drive from the Netherlands to Slovakia, 2018-2019 World Cup Driving Champion Bram Chardon and 6 horses competed in the first phase of the competition with a commanding lead over Glen Geerts (BEL) and Chester Weber (USA).

A smiling Chardon enjoyed his victory round, easing some of the disappointment he encountered at Aachen when his outdoor team had an unfortunate slip resulting in his withdrawal at the second obstacle. At Samorin there was no catching the current Indoor World Champion at the unique event in Slovakia.

The organizers of the CSI in Samorin in Slovakia have integrated a top-level four-in-hand competition ‘indoor-outdoor style’ as part of their large program, named the X-Bionic Summer Driving Tour.

Featuring six of the world’s best four-in-hand drivers from six nations, including the FEI Driving World Cup™ Winner Bram Chardon, Winner of the FEI Top Driver Award József Dobrovitz as well as several FEI World- and European Champions, individual and team, the Summer Tour Driving event will take place over three days, from July 26th to 28th, 2019.

The competitions are held as part of the X-Bionic Summer Tour which also includes jumping and endurance. The eight top four-in-hand drivers compete on the evenings of Friday 26 and Saturday 27 July and on Sunday afternoon 28 July.

The complex in Samorin was created by the successful businessman and endurance enthusiast Mario Hoffmann. The equestrian facilities of the Olympic Sports Center are of a very high level and quality and meet all FEI requirements. The complex includes 680 permanent stables right next to the truck parking and the main rings, a 1.6-km canter and eight large indoor and outdoor pistes with both grass and sandy soil.

The international top four-in-hand drivers will compete for victories in an action marathon session according to the FEI Driving World Cup format.
