Bouncing Back, Bebe Davis and Fiderhit Win Triple Crown Excellence Award
Thursday, March 14, 2019
Coming back into the ring for the first time in almost two years was a rewarding experience for Bebe Davis. Riding her beloved mare, Fiderhit, Davis took first place in the FEI Prix St Georges class during Week 7 of the Adequan Global Dressage Festival (AGDF) in Wellington, Florida. The pair rode their way to a score of 70.294, and afterwards, Davis left the ring with tears of joy in her eyes. “It was my first ride in a really long time,” she described, “I cried when I finished. It was such a joyous moment to be back in the ring, and back with my girl who I love.” The performance earned a comment from the judge, saying “impressive pair,” and it also won them the Triple Crown Excellence Award. This prestigious prize is given to a horse and rider team that demonstrates exemplary achievement within the equestrian community.
Davis was thrilled to receive the engraved plaque and tri colored ribbon as a part of the award. She has been away at college, where she is a junior at the University of Miami with a major in advertising. “It was good for me to take a little time off and experience school,” she explained. “It’s been a really enjoyable experience, but of course, I miss the horses exponentially. I’m so incredibly happy to be back!”
Triple Crown is excited to continue to recognize and support equestrians like Davis, who are so passionate about their horses’ health, well-being and levels of excellence. “The time off makes me love the sport even more,” Davis said. “It made me miss the sport so much, and coming back is just a blessing.” She is continuing to train with celebrated dressage rider Endel Ots and is hoping to do the U-25 this year. “But I’m starting a little bit slow because I’m a little bit rusty right now!” she smiles.
