Beth Jenkins Named USDF Vice President

Saturday, December 4, 2010

Beth Jenkins, of US Dressage Federation Region 8, a longtime New England Dressage Association official and manager of the well-known NEDA Fall Festival CDI, won the 2010 USDF vice-presidential election over Region 5's Janet Foy and Region 6's Peter Rothschild. In her campaign speech to the USDF Board of Governors prior to the election, Jenkins expressed dissatisfaction with some dressage enthusiasts' belief that they do not need to be USDF members, and said that she would work to promote the organization's role and accomplishments that benefit all lovers of the sport.
Jenkins said that she is the first NEDA manager to serve on the USDF Executive Board in close to three decades. Another NEDA member, Steven Schubert, currently serves as USDF treasurer but holds no managerial role within NEDA, Jenkins said in response to a BOG delegate's question.

Three additional new faces will join Jenkins on the USDF Executive Board: Region 1 director Lisa Schmidt, Region 3 director Kimberly Taylor, and Region 5 director Heather Petersen.
