As everyone who came to Lexington, Kentucky, last fall experienced, the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games were a spectacular 16-day extravaganza for competitors, equestrian sports fans and families. More than half a million attendees enjoyed everything the event had to offer: eight World Championship competitions, equine demonstrations, concerts by Grammy Award winners, shopping at the trade show and a myriad of other activities. By whatever name – a celebration of the horse, an international block party, a World’s Fair in Kentucky – the Alltech FEI Games were wildly successful and a ton of fun. So why not do it again? Indeed, we will.
As I’ve said ever since our company agreed to become the first-ever title sponsor of the World Equestrian Games, Alltech is in this for the long haul. We have signed a memorandum of understanding to sponsor the next World Equestrian Games, which will be held in Normandy, France. You can expect an equally exciting performance there, this time with French flair.
But you won’t have to wait that long to experience the excitement of world-class equestrian sports in a single venue. To preserve the legacy of the Lexington event, our staff is busy at work planning the next Alltech Games. This fall we will launch what we intend to be an annual event at Kentucky Horse Park:

THE ALLTECH GAMES: October 13-23, 2011
Kentucky Horse Park - Lexington, Kentucky
Our event will feature competitions for equestrians in several of the most popular FEI disciplines, with many of the events to be held in the new climate-controlled indoor Alltech Arena. They will include musical entertainment, a trade fair and other features that made the 2010 Alltech Games an across-the-board hit.
In the interim, last fall’s event lives on in this special edition of EQUINE INTERNATIONAL. Please enjoy a journey through the splendor of the Alltech FEI Games as we celebrate the magnificence of the horse and rev up to do it again in October.
