The American Hanoverian Society Foundation has awarded the first recipient of its new Dressage Young Horse Championship Fund to Famosa WF (Fürsten-Look x Samanta/St. Moritz). The funds will be used to attend the Markel/USEF Young Horse National Championships, which showcase the top 4-, 5- and 6-year-old dressage horses and are a vital link in the pipeline for producing future international horses.
Famosa WF, bred in Germany by Mirko Lade, is owned by Sloane Rosenthal and ridden by Greta Vowell. The funds will assist with the travel expenses from Longmont, CO to Wayne, IL.
“The mission of the AHS Foundation includes fostering competitors and highlighting the talents of Hanoverian and Rhineland horses. That’s why we’re pleased to help offset the costs involved with this prestigious competition through our new fund,” said Natalie DiBerardinis, president, AHS Foundation. “The caliber of young Hanoverian and Rhineland horses headed to the Championships this year is quite high. Join us in cheering on Famosa WF and the other Hanoverian and Rhineland competitors.”
The selection committee was provided with the names of the applicants and horses redacted, so the choice was completely objective. Photographs and articles from the recipient about their experience will be published in the future.
The Markel/USEF Young Horse National Championships will take place at Lamplight Equestrian Center Aug. 19-25.
